BROADBAND ADSL

ADSL Broadband simply means a faster connection to the Internet and because it is "always on" you no longer pay to dial in each time.

  • First decision is how fast? - 256 (around 5 times faster than dial up), 512, 1500 or 8Mb
  • Second decision is how much data - if you have different data requirements other than what we have listed please email as we have other plans
  • Finally you need to lodge a written application -
  • Download a Broadband application by clicking here
  • Credit Card Authority

#Terms that apply to all ADSL plans:

ALL plans are payable in advance.  A late payment fee of $20 may apply. 6 month contract. Connection Fee $145. Additional data @ 11 cents per Mb.
Fees apply for Early termination, upgrade and any changes to your access including change of install address. Your access will not be suspended should you reach your data allowance within the month.  Data Usage can be checked HERE

You will need an ADSL modem. (Your existing dial up modem will not work). You can purchase a good ADSL modem for less than 80 bucks (filters are usually included). Your new ADSL modem should come with Quick Set Up instructions and this is usually all you need to follow to successfully connect.

Each modem is different however the way it usually works is that you open your web browser (Internet Explorer or Firefox or Safari or whatever one you use) and in the address bar type in the address that is detailed in the Quick Set Up instructions (it could be http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or even http://10.10.10.1).

When you press ENTER on your keyboard it will then prompt for a username and password.  This is also detailed in the Quick Set Up instructions.(it could be username admin, password admin or username admin, password password)

Then following your Quick Set Up instructions type in the ADSL login name and password we emailed you.

Once connected you will need to disable your dial up connection  (either delete it or disassociate it from your browser & email program)

RELOCATION: When you move premises it is a good idea to let us know BEFORE you move as service to your old address will need to be cancelled and an application for connection at your new address will need to be set in motion.  You can expect a small disruption to access while these changes are made.  Dial Up access can be organised to tie you over.

Changes to Broadband plans can happen without notice however where possible we honour the plan you have selected at the same price even if that plan is no longer listed.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Sometimes your ADSL modem/router will need to be reset (turn off power, count to 30 and turn back on).  So reboot before you ring us...it'll probably fix it!

Reboot Meditation works for dial up and for ADSL.  Power down your computer and turn it off, then turn off the power to your ADSL modem.  Take a deep breath,  count to 30 and then turn on the modem first and then turn on your computer.  Breathe!

All modems including ADSL ones can be damaged by storms.  During storm season disconnect everything.
