The ADNET Webmail server requires your email address not just your username
Web Mail can be used from anyone's computer, anywhere in the world. It enables you to check what messages are waiting for you, read them, reply to them, and even delete them. It provides you with another way of finding out what's in your mailbox and if there is maybe a large email that is blocking the rest of your messages. You can then retrieve the messages using your email program |
Email
Unless you have requested NOT to be issued with an email address you will be allocated one upon joining the service. It is important that you get the hang of email so that you can receive service updates and account information.
You can check your email either by using the Web Mail facility above or by using an Email Client (Software), or both.
The Email client "Outlook Express" generally works ok. Please be aware that any Microsoft product is targeted by virus writers and hackers. Like any email software it needs to be told what to do (this is called configuration) and this section is found under
Tools - Accounts - Mail To set up a new account you simply click on ADD and then follow the questionaire using the answers below. To check the configuration of an account that is already set up simply click on Properties
| @midcoast.com.au | @ecopost.com.au | @adnet.com.au | | Incoming Mail Server | postbox.midcoast.com.au | mail.ecopost.com.au | mail.adnet.com.au | | Outgoing Mail Server | smtp.midcoast.com.au | smtp.midcoast.com.au | smtp.midcoast.com.au | | Account Name | username (before the @) | username (before the @) | username@adnet.com.au |
Win friends & influence people - use Bcc for email
If you prefer a more stable and reliable Email Client you can use Eudora. We have been using this one since 1995. It can be downloaded from EUDORA. Eudora is self installing and will come up with a set up wizard as soon as you double click on the file - all you need is the correct answers to the questions. To check the configuration go to Tools - Options Getting Started: POP a/c: yourusername@postbox.midcoast.com.au OR yourusername@mail.adnet.com.au OR yourusername@mail.ecopost.com.au Hosts: Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): smtp.midcoast.com.au
